Norfolk Young Farmers
The organisation is going strong at a young ‘73’ years old!
There are 12 senior clubs across the county whose members range from
14 to 26 years of age.
The senior clubs are ‘run by the members for the members’ by a
committee who organise all club activities. These range from weekly meetings to
competitions and social events.

Training Fund – “Helping young people step forwards”
Norfolk YFC has received support for the Countrysider Project. The
project is the junior arm of the organisation aimed at those young people aged
10-16 and aims to increase the education and understanding of the countryside
and farming practises.
There are 15 Countrysider Clubs throughout the county which meet
fortnightly, they have packed programmes
which include, farm visits, stock judging, presentations from gamekeepers,
wildlife organisations and sometimes even practical butchery sessions! Their
social activities include sports, cooking and creative nights. One of the main
highlights in their year is the Conservation Campout which involves practical
experience of land management and conservation.
“The most valuable thing that I get from Countrysiders is knowledge”
Downham Market Countrysider
“The Clan Trust has
helped shape Countrysiders over the years by allowing its growth and enabling
its success. For this support I wish to extend the thanks and appreciation of
the entire organisation” Becca Horner, Norfolk YFC Chairlady
